Exoplanetary Scratchpad |
A Billion year old system containing two dust belts perhaps experiencing a phase of heavy bombardment (thought to be caused by migration outwards of outer planets disrupting the Kuiper belt). One is interpreted as the result of the collision of a giant comet and a rocky planet, or with another comet. Another is a Kuiper-belt like structure, which may be the source of the comets.
