Exoplanetary Scratchpad

[SysBP Img]

Star with the most eccentric known exoplanet. This planet ranges from 2.5 AU to 0.06 AU and has Jupiter-like mass. A flash of reflected light was detected when planet b made its closest approach to the star. Unlike Hot Jupiters, which tend to lose their highly reflective clouds over time, there isn't enough of a chance for this reflective clouds to be removed during quick swingbys, so the planet remains very bright during close approaches.
